Risk Disclosure for Prediction-Market and Copy Trading
Last updated: 22 June 2026
You can lose money — including your entire stake
Prediction-market trading on Polymarket and copy trading through Polyspect both carry substantial risk of loss. Outcomes are uncertain, prices move quickly, and a market can resolve against your position. You should treat every dollar at risk as money you are prepared to lose in full. Only risk capital you can afford to lose.
Polyspect is an independent analytics and copy-trading platform. We are not affiliated with Polymarket, and we do not custody your funds or control the markets you trade.
Polymarket trading risk
Prediction markets resolve to a binary or multi-outcome result. The specific Polymarket trading risk factors you should understand include:
- Total loss. A position that resolves against you can settle at zero. There is no partial recovery on a losing outcome.
- Liquidity and slippage. Thin order books mean the price you get can differ from the price you saw, especially on larger size or fast-moving markets.
- Fees. Trading costs reduce returns and turn marginally profitable trades into losses.
- Resolution and oracle risk. How a market resolves depends on its rules and the resolution source, which may be disputed or interpreted differently than you expect.
- Operational and platform risk. Outages, smart-contract issues, wallet errors, and connectivity problems can affect your ability to enter or exit a position.
If you are new to how these markets work, read Polymarket explained and our glossary before committing real money.
Copy trading risk disclosure
Copying a profitable trader does not guarantee that you will profit. Even when you mirror a trader whose historical metrics look strong, your results can diverge from theirs for reasons outside your control:
- Timing. You enter and exit after the source trader, at different prices.
- Fees and slippage. Your costs are your own and compound against smaller positions.
- Size. Fixed per-trade sizing and capital limits mean your position rarely matches theirs proportionally.
- Source behavior. A trader's edge can fade, their style can change, or they can stop trading entirely.
This is why we let you start on paper. Our virtual copy trading mirrors a real trader with virtual money so you can watch the equity curve before risking a cent. When you move to live real-money copy trading, guardrails such as fixed per-trade size, stop-loss, take-profit, trailing exits, slippage limits, and position and daily-loss caps are tools to help manage risk — they reduce exposure but do not eliminate the risk of loss.
Past performance does not guarantee future results
Every metric on Polyspect — Expected Value, Profit Factor, Reward/Risk, Max Drawdown, Wilson-adjusted win rate, ROI, and realized PnL — is computed from historical public Polymarket data. Historical performance, rankings, and scores do not predict or guarantee future results. A high-ranking trader can still lose, and our data may contain gaps or errors. We explain exactly how these numbers are produced in our methodology, and what each metric means in what makes a trader profitable.
